Beijing Bandits Pirate 'Bad Lad' - and it's a hit!

There's been an increasing amount of Bad Lad traffic on the net recently, and I was doing some checking on Google. For quite some time there's been a couple of Chinese sites listed for Bad Lad. The first is a listings site - like a Chinese imdb, but I'd never clicked on the second, assuming that it was similar. So, this time I clicked on 'translate this page' and up popped a very major Beijing registered Film and everything else site. And, there in front of me, is a Bad Lad DVD with a cover constructed from a screengrab from the amateur porn scene. Hell's bells, I think, it's out as a pirate in China! Now, on this 'Bad Lad' page there are a couple of buttons where people can register whether they like, or don't like the film. And the 'likes' totalled 5,332 and the 'don't likes' 1 - yes, you read that right - one. Wow, I thought, dancing round the room, have we got some fans in Beijing! OK, so that's at least £20,000 worth of revenue we've missed out on, but I hadn't expected we'd be out in China anyway. What an amazing story.

Yep it should noted that most sales agents and distributors steer clear of China because it's that rife with piracy that they stand little to no chance of making any money from releasing films there anyway.

So like Jon says this isn't a bad thing.
