Long shot here...

Does anybody have a Hitachi DVD Camera? Model DZ - GX5040E?

I think GX5100E, GX5060E and GX5020E are suitable also.

I borrowed one off a mate to do some filming. However, to finalise the disk it has to be connected to the mains, but he can't find the adapter.

I'm trying to find somebody in the Burnley/Blackburn area tht has one I can borrow until he buys a new one.

I know it's a long shot but worth asking.

Can't you just use a standard AC/DC adapter? One of the ones from Argos with multiple jacks and voltages?

Unfortuntely it has to actually be the camera cable. It is attatched to a battery at the end, and goes on like a battery.

That's exactly how my three video cameras work, too. There is a cable with a "pseudo battery" that goes from the mains battery charger to the camera. However they all have a DC in, too....
