Joe has just uploaded a really interesting LFL 'making of' mini documentary to the 'video' area of his LFL MySpace profile. It's the first in a series and is narrated by Joe himself. :)

He talks a little about the film's basic outline, and then continues by giving us some insight into what it involves to film on a northern council estate.

Loved the positivity you've brought to the doc, Joe, particularly the way you've emphasized this at the beginning, in the middle, and the end of it. Ah, the memories of the ice cream van chimes! Strangely, listening to this 'music' now actually reminds me of watching Pigeon Street as a child whilst off school and feeling ill! :p o_O

But, lol, Joe....Chris Leonard looks nowt like Manuel from Fawlty Towers! :D I still loved your lil Manuel mick take, though! :D

Joe, do you intend both this and the following mini docs to be featured on the LFL DVD?

Can't wait for the next one, particularly as I thought this one was rather fabulous! :D :) So, just imagine how great I'd think one was if it featured The Finch himself! ;) o_O  :D

Hi Joanna

I think there will be a much slicker and more professional look to the Lucky Doc on the disc, tho these may find their way on there, I'm glad you like them, they are really nice to do actually - in a recent nostalgia kind of way...

Chris Leonard IS Manuel!!! Gonna start an internet campaign to get him back with John Cleese...and Chris has done wonderful things since he arrived from Spain, in fact if he hadn't spilt gravy on me in that restaurant he might never have gotten where he is today, such a shame the hotel owner beat him to within an inch of his life.

Surprised you haven't spotted the 'other' video yet... it was an old concept trailer for Lucky...there is a brief glimpse of some1 on it... ;) ...oh and it's on my site, where I am gettin rid of the bad blogs...

Thanks, Joe. Really hope these LFL mini docs make it onto the DVD in some form, as I really did think this first one was great. :)

Joe's uploaded a second LFL mini doc to the 'video' area of his LFL MySpace profile.

This second one is about Clyve's involvement with Lucky and, to a lesser degree, the character of Chalkie. Joe talks about how he first met Clyve and about his first 'experience' of Clyve's truly spectacular artwork. Joe then leads this into how Clyve became involved with Lucky and of the invaluable contribution he has made to it. There's also a bit of insight into Chalkie's character, and....of course....we also get to see a selection of the artwork in question..... :)

Thanks, Joe. It was a wonderful mini doc. Just loved it. :) Ryan's contribution to it was lovely, too. :) As with the first doc, though, I can't get the 'rating' feature to work! Argh, I want to give them both 5 'heads and shoulders' out of 5 'heads and shoulders'! :p And on the picture quality being poor....It was fine for me. You worry too much about these things! :p Now, I wonder who that reminds me of..... ;) :):p

Nice to see Lucky has finally got an IMDb page, even though there's not a great deal up there at the moment.

Clive....

Joe has now added a couple of LFL posters to his LFL MySpace profile. They're up in both the slideshow and the piccy area.

First up is the main promo poster....

Then there's a teaser poster....

Very cool....IndieTV.tv, an independent Seattle-based internet broadcaster (broadcasting to around 130 countries!), have taken an interest in Lucky...so much so that they're now giving it some very healthy promotion on their website. If you click on the LFL picture at the bottom of their homepage, you'll find its trailer and a synopsis. And as well as watching the trailer, you can rate and review it! Wonder what rating I gave it... ;)

Go, Lucky...GO! :D

Joe's got a radio spot this Saturday on the regional station The Revolution (96.2 FM, covering Oldham/Rochdale/Tameside/Greater Manchester). He's going to be on Mick Ferry's show 'The Weekend Shambles' (12-4pm) talking about Lucky and his preparations to take it to Cannes next month. And if you're not local to the station, you can still get to listen to it....LINK!

Good luck with the show, Joe!

Joe, Chris Leonard (Lucky's director/co-producer) and Jonathan Harris (Lucky's cinematographer/co-producer) are going to be on Radio Lancashire (95.5/103.9/104.5 FM and 855/1557 AM) on Monday evening. They'll be guests on Carole Turner's 'Later with Carole' show (10pm-1am).

And what will they be talking about? Well, Lucky...of course...Bad Lad, the movie scene...and a lil something else too....a lil something else that goes by the name of Bar Stewards....

I have just listened to the "Lucky" chaps on Radio Lancashire. They came across well, and I cant wait to have a really good chat with them at Cannes.

My favourite part was when Joe says "We have a lad called Chris Wilkinson in it, who played the gay nurse in Corrie"

The Presenter then says in an impressed tone "Oh yes, oh yes - I remember him... I recognise the name!"

Liar Liar Liar Liar!! :) :)

They plugged Bar Stewards, and had great things to say about Tim Paley too, Michael Booth was mentioned too, whoever he is?

Just beat me to it, Cop!! Yeah, great that Mike, Wilky :p , Tim and BS got a mention! Even Bad Lad got a lil plug.

Anyway, great interview. Found it very insightful. Also interesting to hear about the other projects they're juggling along with Lucky.

It was a good interview, I listened to it in the car on my way home, I was only expecting them to be on for a few minutes... I had to drive all around Rossendale listening to them for two hours! I might ask the Lucky crew for a contribution to petrol money now!)

I know. It was a nice lengthy interview, wasn't it?!

Also loved Joe's "It's grim, great and grand up North!"

They seem like a "quick" bunch of lads - all very funny

Yet I think it was Chris Leonard who thought Cliff Richard (spit) won most Eurovision song contest awards... when all night they were harping on about the question "which country has won it most"...

I hope the Bar Stewards crew can get a chance like that near the time of the release - it sounded like they really enjoyed themselves.

Yeah, it was Chris! And yeah, that would be a nice bit of promo, wouldn't it, if you could get a spot on there?

Just listening again to the interview and heard something a little surprising. It obviously didn't register with me first time around, but when Chris is mentioned it seems that it's firstly as one of the cast of Bad Lad. Chris....in Bad Lad? Can anyone clear that up for me?

A very sore Chris Leonard.

Thanks for the plug(s) guys.

By the way, the last time I was on Radio Lancashire I ended up having an argument with the presenter. To be fair she did ask me if I'd like to make 'proper' films like Mission Impossible, which I thought was a bit rude seeing as I and my team had just made a student film at an FE college (not even Uni) and it was shown officially at the second largest European film festival (second only to Cannes). I mean what an achievement, only to be asked if I wanted to make proper films like MI. I like Brian DePalma, perhaps if she'd said Scarface she might have gotten away with it. But Mission Impossible!!!!

I didn't get asked to come back :)

But I think nearer the time of completion we'll be on there. Different staff there now. And I'm sure Joe will be reappearing nearer the Bad Lad premiere.
