We were back filming today, one thing I noticed was how odd certain cast members have become! I sent along our intrepid reporter Birty, to find out about weird goings on! I will have a little interview with Chris on the forum by next Friday were he reveals some shocking facts about his departure from Waterloo road

i didn't know how to embed vimeo video's, can you sort it Mr Booth!

That was worth watching just for Birty's 'reaction shots'! Thanks, wiggy. (Btw, as it was done on a BS filming day, it's now been added 'you-know-where'.) And as for these 'shocking facts' on Chris's WR departure...I'm saying nowt until I've seen the interview....

How do you embed vimeo videos, Mike?

I suppose this is where I have to admit to having had a life time interest in UFO’s. I used to buy a really good monthly magazine called UFO Magazine which gave regular updates about all the latest UFO sightings all around the world. Sadly, the editor, Graham Birdsall, died at the height of it’s success and the magazine died with him.

I’ve seen a few strange sights over the years. I used to live in the countryside, where it’s much darker at night and once saw an aerial ballet of lights moving so fast and covering so much of the sky, it’s hard - nah- impossible - to believe they were man made. It lasted for about ten minutes and the more I watched the more I was convinced even our fastest planes couldn’t behave the way they did or move as fast. I always try to stay open minded though.

With regard to there being no sound, at one time I would have thought that meant they had to be something other than man made. Then one night when I was about 18, I was walking home along a dark country road and suddenly realised there were three orange lights in the field next to me, very low and ‘keeping pace’ with me.

Despite having an interest in the subject, with it happening so close to me and being alone, I was scared silly and started walking very quickly to the turn off that would lead me to home. The lights followed keeping abreast of me, until I got to the road where I had to turn off to go up a steep hill which led to my house. I ran as far as I could up the hill, (before I had to stop to breathe!) and turned to see if the lights were still there.

At that point, when I looked down into the field, I was shocked to discover I could make out the shapes of three helicopters! I hadn’t heard any engine noise at all, but then I did, as they all rose up into the air and flew off quite normally. I had to assume it was something to do with the direction of the wind keeping the noise from me even though they were very close. I suppose from that time on, although I never lost interest in UFO’s, it taught me to not always jump to conclusions and to accept that a lot of sightings do have rational explanations.

What I learned from the magazine, was that most serious ‘Ufologists’, always look for a rational explanation before they do anything else, and are the first to think of the many possible explanations there could be, and check with airports and the military etc, before they commit themsleves to classing it as a UFO sighting, but it always leaves a few that are a mystery. ;)

For anyone who’s interested Skipton in Yorkshire is/was a UFO hotspot and Fleetwood used to get a lot of sightings too. I’m out of touch since the magazine closed down though, so don’t know if that’s still the case.

I’m looking forward to next weeks interview with Chris about his departure from WR! :) Not least because I noticed a comment on You Tube the other day, from someone who’d watched the vids, (thanks Joanna for telling us about them :) ) who said this “……… Guessing that the guy who played Colin (can't remember his name...Chris something I think, didn't want to return or something maybe.”

The thought that ‘Chris something’ had turned it down, never occurred to me! It had me thinking silly things like. “No…he wouldn’t…course he wouldn’t…don’t be silly…he wouldn’t. Would he!?? Don’t be daft… what if he did? But Why?..Flippin eck…I’m never going to know for sure now!”

But maybe I will now, hopefully your interview will stop me wondering! :)

They are in costume there as well, they aren't wearing those clothes because it was nippy by the way. Got some quality footage, some of it's going to end up on the DVD as 'extended stuff' complete with audio of Paul Gordon tittering behind the camera.

I've sent you a pm about embedding vimeo vids Joanna. Just put the vimeo video number between [vv] tags.

Ooh, I see 'weird weekends' (this New Years' on a 'weekend'...hmm, yeah, that is 'weird'! ;) ) is now part of a new BS videos sub-forum!

Anyway, cheers, Mike. Hadn't thought of doing 'vv' for the tags!

Thought I'd add in that brief explanation, as I remembered what you once said to me when I told you I'd added in the Orange Face vid to my guide...the guide that no longer has said Orange Face vid in it! ;)

And I like the sound of 'quality footage'! Glad you had a productive day's filming.

ps: No posts from Fran for ages, then she comes back with a right whopper! :)
