He wrote the screenplay to "The Talented Mr Ripley"

54, that no age is it

RIP

More Sad News

A few days ago, Actor John Hewer, who was best known for playing Captain Birds Eye in the popular fish finger adverts, died aged 86.

He played the role of the jovial naval captain, who was aimed at children, from 1967 until 1998.

When I say he was "aimed at children", I don't mean that they put him in a cannon pointing towards Waterloo Road

It's really sad and shocking about Anthony Minghella :( He was so talented. Apparently, he was only due to start promo tomorrow for his latest project, the Number 1 Ladie's Detective Agency, which is being shown on BBC1 on Sunday. I wonder if they will still show it in tribute to him or whether they will postpone it and show it in tribute to him later on?

These days 54 really is such a young age to die :(

Cop, that's really sad about 'Captain Birds Eye' too....I used to love those adverts! :(

R.I.P Anthony and John.

Yes, I have been in complete shock about it all day . . . . He was only 54 which is really no age to be. I cannot believe it. That is far too young for such a talent to go. We are all left bereft at his loss.
