Thought i would share this with the world, Me and a mate of mine are making a short film which we are going to screen to raise money for a war memorial in a village called sabden, the jist of it is, a fun weekend is to be organised in sabden some time in the summer which will be wild west themed were raffles and games and wot not will be raising some cash, at this event the climax to the film will take place, it is a real event which is being organised specifically for my filming purposes. The film is called fearless men and is about two guys who whilst living in a mental hospital constantly watch spaghetti westerns, so much in fact that they actually believe they are characters from the films, they then escape the hospital and go on a journey (as cowboys) in our modern society, ending up in sabden where this wild west fun day is taking place, they think they have come home as they dont know what is reality and fake. the village is bullied by a farmer and his sons who have turned to growing illegal crops and the villagers are repressed, at which point a traditional spaghetti western then occurs were good fights bad.

Im chuffed with the script so far as it is funny plus i have always wanted to make a spaghetti western but not known how to fit it in to a north of england scenario.

we are then going to have a screening night or two at the village hall and sell tickets to help raise money for the memorial.

just thought i'd let you all know, ps any helpers would be good!!!

Ooh, I'd love to see this, wiggy! Sounds like a real 'living your fantasy' film.

Good luck with it, wiggy, and I hope you raise lots of money for that war memorial. :)

Have you got a copy of The Good, The Bad, and the Chorley. They are all good, but one fellow stands out and we should track him down.

Wiggy I thinks it sounds like a great idea! I am a big fan of the spaghetti western. I also saw The Good, the bad and the chorley a couple of years ago. it was a student film from the uni of central lancs in preston. i was in one of the other films being screened at the VUE preston. i thought the short was excellent, very well made...particularly for an el studente production!

all this western talk leads me onto something else. i am attending a fancy dress party a week on fri (yes another one) and i am going as woody from toy story. i have the full costume except boots! if anyone has any size 9 (or even 8 or 10) brown cowboy boots and wouldn't mind me borrowing them for a night then let me know! if i can't find any i will have to do a Marty McFly and go in sneekers!!

YEEE HAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, and a costume pattern emerges...Top choice, Mr Woodfinch!! Huge Toy Story fan myself. Both of them were just so cleverly put together.

And what was that student film you were in, Chris? Wouldn't mind a lil google attempt on that one!!

Hope you have fun at the party! Woody is an excellent choice :) I am a huge fan of Toy Story, seen both films too many times to mention! Reach for the sky! Can't help you out on the boots though I'm afraid! I'm a size 8 but only have ordinary brown knee-length boots, not cowboy style ones :(

You could always improvise and dress up some sneakers as cowboy boots! :)
