Hi, All.

Didn't know if this should go here or in "Anything goes" but as I'll finish with a few planned projects I thought it was best posted in here. The "intro" came about as the result of a "who the hell are you" PM response from another user. As I was typing my usual long rambling b*ll*cks, it occurred to me that it might serve a better purpose with a wider audience.

I've been registered with Pleased Sheep for about 18 months, but I haven't contributed anything as I was really looking to learn from guys who are already making films. That took a back seat and I haven't signed in for over a year due to the backlog of editing I had to do. With the scaling down of the wedding films (too much work for not enough return) I'm probably going to find that I'll now have enough time to work on the various ideas I've had. The biggest barrier so far has been working out how to get talent involved: Although I've been settled in the area for 10 years I lead a pretty introverted lifestyle, so it's not just a case of texting everyone in my mobile.

The forum itself seems to have been quiet of late - with my new found voice I should probably be worried that I'm partly the cause ;)

The next project I have planned is a special effects demo reel as a testbed for future projects (with the highlight being the demolition of Great Harwood town clock tower - but don't tell anyone o_O

Then I'll be doing a couple of shorts: "Time" and "Water" - each of which were scripted for "Snapshot in Time". SiT is the annual DVD I end up producing when a bunch of like-minded editors from around the world send in their work based on particular themes. It's not usually thought-provoking stuff, it's just a showcase for the editors and what they do with the (Ulead) software. The two shorts I'd planned were way beyond my abilities and available time when the DVDs were being made. Now that things have settled down, I may actually get around to making them!

Thanks for reading this far - I did say I rambled a bit. :(

Don't worry Gareth, like minds are always welcome ;)

Maybe we should have a 'introduce yourself' forum?

That would be great, especially if longstanding members "reintroduced" themselves for newcomers. It would be good to see who's part of "Diary..." and "Bar Stewards" making, and who's here because they're itching to see them released.
