A few more pics have been added to the 'gallery' section of the Lucky site. Here's piccy 16.... ;)

And I see from the 'news' section that Lucky's editor, Dave Dubois, has become a father for the first time (congrats, Dave), and that Lucky is on target for an August completion date. Great news. :)

Since I'm hoping that this thread will come back to life again around the time LFL gets a release (post-production being very close to completion), etc, I've decided to post up a 'guide' I've done for the film in its own thread. May eventually end up getting a bit 'lost' in here, and should be more accessible where it is now. I've posted it up HERE and will update it as and when needed. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think (be gentle with me!).

(Thank you, Joe. :) )

Joe writes in this myspace blog entry that the "done, dusted and lookin' gorgeous" (I ain't doubting it at all!) Lucky is going to be screened in November as part of Salford Film Festival (15-23 November). And even better, he says the festival organiser, Steve Balshaw, is "absolutely raving about it and promising us a great slot for it at VUE CINEMA..."

And how fab that both Bad Lad and Lucky are showing as part of this festival.

The Salford Film Festival site has now been updated with the info about the preview/world premiere screening of Lucky. It's screening on 19 November at Vue Cinema (9pm).

Good LUCK with the screening, Joe. From what I've so far seen of the film, it deserves to be just the first of a successful many. Ah, the delights of distributing independent British flicks....

Lucky will be screening at the Pennine Film Festival on 20 March. There'll also be an accompanying q&a with Joe O'Byrne (on both the film itself and the independent film business). Both are free, too, though tickets still need to be booked. Details can be found HERE.

(I've now updated my Lucky guide with the info about this...both in the 'screenings' section and as a headline right at the top.)

According to the Bolton uni article 'Stage and screen success for student', Lucky is now being backed by digital distribution company Diva.AG. Consequently, Diva.AG will now be supporting both screenings at selected UK cinemas and the organisation of online/DVD distribution.

And following on from the forthcoming Q&A screening of Lucky at the Pennine Film Festival (20 March), there's also to be a similar screening at Manchester's greenroom (10 June). I'll add a booking link here (and add the info to my Lucky guide) once the details about this have gone up on the greenroom website.

Landmark Salford film to play in Manchester (SalfordOnline)

The last half of the article is devoted to Joe's thoughts on both Paradise Heights itself and its role as a piece of fiction. And...

I’m looking for a publishing deal to get the first five scripts in one volume entitled ‘Low Tales from The Heights’

Fingers and toesies crossed on that deal becoming a reality! ;)

From 2 minutes 50 minutes into...

[yt=The Making of Rank (part 1a)]e1-WBqWVryg[/yt]

...Joe talks briefly about Lucky and how it was made for £3500, has now acquired its first distribution deal and will be out either later this year or early next year. There's also some Lucky footage overlaying most of this (from 2 mins 55 secs in).
