Chris Wilkinson (Daz)
Chris Wilkinson made his professional acting debut at the age 22. After performing in several theatre productions, Chris secured a small role on the widely acclaimed television show, ‘Coronation Street’. Whilst only having a small speaking role, Chris made a strong impression on the producers and after taking a short period of time out to create a community theatre company designed to involve school children in acting workshops, culminating in a weeks run at the Edinburgh fringe festival, Chris was asked to return to ‘Coronation Street’ and take on the role of gay nurse Karl Foster in a new ground-breaking and controversial storyline.
Despite its controversial and challenging storyline, Chris Wilkinson’s commitment and passion for the role earned him a great amount of critical acclaim and an award for ‘Best Kiss’ at the national ‘Inside Soap Awards’. Following the success of his performance on the show, Chris continued to make strong and considered choices as to the roles he would continue to take and whilst this meant passing on many projects, his commitment to choosing roles that he felt he had a strong personal connection with remained his main criteria.
One of these projects was the feature film ‘Lookin For Lucky’. With its compelling narrative and witty dialogue Chris new that playing the controversial role of Daz was an opportunity he could not pass up.
Since working on ‘Lucky’, Chris Wilkinson has successfully continued to bridge his career between that of mainstream Television and Independent Cinema and has gained credits on the BBC dramas’ ‘Innocence’, ‘Grange Hill’, Channel Four’s ‘Hollyoaks: In the city’ and the feature film ‘Bar Stewards’ currently in production.
