The Great Flan or Quiche Debate

I've been having a chat or 12 with Joanna lately, and something came up during one of them, which led to her kindly posting me this link by way of an explanation -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiche

I thought it were flans ooop north, and quiches were for them southern Nancys, but it appears I'm delusional (again!)

Wikipedia has from time to time been accused of getting the odd "fact" wrong. So go on then, who's right, me or them? And when you've decided that, you could start added any more strange "facts" you've found on The World of Wiki, or should that be Wiki's World, or am I giving my age away again? I might not be that old, I could just be a very knowledgeable TV historian.

Over to you ...........

I gonna have to do some market research round all the supermarkets - see who labels what as what! I'm sure Tescos and Morrisons have flans, but I'll bet Sainsburys have mainly quiches.

Ooh, the quichey shame of you revealing the topic of quiches came up in our PMs!! Lol. Daveeeeeeeee! :) ;) (Private ;) :p ) Message ya later!...

:)

PS: I'd actually thought it was a flan that was generally seen as the (for want of an accurate word) 'classier' of the two. And I'd say a flan was more like a tart, and so something you might have as a dessert.
