Shameless plug here...

I have founded and manage the Burnley FC SUpporters Team. The Supporters team FA- IFA- aims to bring football fans together and the spirit of the league has really been displayed by the AFC halifax team who raised over £1000 for a player of ours who got injured in a game against them.

Anyway- We are looking at fund-raising initiatives at the moment.

At our first official team meeting, our chairman BigDave suggested a pixel purchase system.

The 'Thousands' scheme gives individuals, websites, companies and groups the opportunity to buy a 10x10 'square' on our homepage. Every time a user visits burnleyfansteam.co.uk they will see your image.

'Squares' can be purchased at £1 each in any quantity, and can display anything from your name or company to your latest holiday snaps

It is still under development and we hope to have a solid system in place by the weekend. Until then you can buy 'squares' at half price- just 50p each.

Here is our homepage where the Thousands will be displayed. And here is more information.

fuckoff, this site is in danger of turning claret and blue

if you want to go to heaven when you die

you must wear a blue and white collar and a tie

you must wear a blue and white bonnett

with blackburn rovers on it

if you want to go to heaven when you die

Razo - you wont get much support on here, being a production company in Blackburn, the majority of them are Bastards.

Only since 1995 though...

That's always something that makes me laugh because in actual fact there wasn't exactly a big influx of fans (and by that I mean people who actaully went to the games) when Rovers won the premiership. Sure there was a lot more shirts being worn on the streets but the gates didn't exactly explode in a way you'd expect. Ray Harford's unsuccessful reign ruined the chances of that!

Even when Dalglish took over as manager the stadium wasn't full when it converted to all-seater. So if you're going to take the piss Coppack, do your research and take the piss properly. :)

By the way isn't there a touch of irony that in a thread that Raz is trying to buy support, you are mocking the Rovers for a similar thing. As Wiggy would say, ha! :p

I am always sick of hearing all these modern day Rovers fans saying... "Well I used to support Rovers when we only had a couple of thousand at Ewood"... Yeah right! If that's the case, I must have met them all.

As opposed to Burnley fans who still only have a couple of thousand! ;)

One thing that always annoyed me about people who dissed the bandwagoners, as that at least it happened in the home town of the club. When United won the premier league back in 1993 the whole of the North West went red, which I think disgusted every real football supporter.

I started supporting Rovers properly at high school because my mate Greg was a big Rovers fan and my Dad was since he was a kid. The other factor is that the majority of 'fans' at our school were Liverpool fans, none of which had been to a game or were actually scouse. Not that I have anything against Liverpool, but I do against cocky twats who have no connection to the club and use it against you.

Actually Michael, :p I think you will find that Burnley lowest ever attendance was 1,696 against Colchester United in 1986... the season we escaped The Conference.

When I started going in 1991, we were averageing attendences of nearly 10,000 and that was in the Fourth Division (which we are still reigning Champions of by the way:)), a few years ago it was nearly 15,000 - 16,000 at one point

Everyone at my primary school when I was about 10 (1993) you supported either Liverpool, Manchester United or Burnley... But only Burnley Fans actually went to watch football matches.

When I went to secondary school, it was Manchester United, Blackburn or Burnley... (more Burnley fans when I was there) and football was the only thing people talked about.

But you're right I suppose, like the attendances at Deadwood, they are dropping, but we are averaging around 10,000 at the moment - not good for a team two points away from the play-offs - this is because -

a) we are shit

b) its too expensive these days, especially for people in Burnley

The way Burnley are trying to entice fans to Turf Moor is by promising FREE Season Tickets if we win promotion to the Premiership, the same offer is on next season too. Its a good offer if we manage to go up (looking unlikely in my view) but it shows how desperate times are at the moment.

Rovers won promotion back to the Premiership just in time, they could have easily been a Notts Forest, Leeds United or Southampton (there is a good chance they could go down!)

Its annoying, I find that most people in the Film Industry don't follow football

There was only a handful of people who supported Rovers at our school. They were mostly into Liverpool, though had never been anywhere near Anfield. I could never understand it as Blackburn's not the most colorful town and what was baffling was that anything that's positive should be supported. Even now Blackburn's known for only a few things - one of them being the Rovers.

And when there was a rumor that Dalglish was being tapped up as manager, everyone, even the non-Liverpool 'fans' took the piss. I suppose high-schools back then were all about being as fashionable and success is in some way associate with being fashionable.

To be honest I didn't mind being in the minority. I'd prefer to support a less successful club that means something to me. That said, watching them on a bad day is a different thing entirely! Since I stopped getting a season ticket my moods are definitely better. A bad loss ruined my week once over.

Though I would like my season ticket back!

I wish I could have my season ticket back too, rather than working there, at least I have the choice if I want to go or not... It's funny how over-rated team of tossers can spoil your whole weekend too.

Before I got the job there, I would drive home slagging the players off but since working there it gives you a new perspective. When walking past the players (when doing their warm down) after we get beat, they are really gutted.

The press room is like walking into a party where an argument has just taken place. You know when there is that atmosphere. No one is talking about what's just happened, and people are trying their best to change the topic. :)

as far as i am concerned, football in general is shit! not the sport but the over priced extortionate day that goes with actually going to watch the premier league. i haven't been along to too many games this season but one that sticks out in my mind is the fulham game a few weeks ago, i sat with my dad and my 4 year old nephew, the kid was excited and accidently kicked a chair in front of him, a big fat fucking wentch who was sat with her even fatter pig of a mum turned to my dad and said "can you stop him from kicking that chair" now this chair was 5 chairs away from the nearest occupied one so for that lard arsed bitch to have felt any kind of vibration through her huge monstrous arse must have been a miracle, an argument ensued where she then said she'd been following rovers for years, she said we should teach the 4 year old kid some manners and that it was people like us who had ruined the game! if i could have picked up the big fat animal i would have thrown her off the top tier were i was sat. thats whats wrong with football, especially at blackburn, because it was over 10 years ago since we won the league people like this think they are true blues, how long you have been going doesn't mean jack shit in my eyes but i would just like to say that i started going when i was around 13 with my mates, that was in 1983 and so called fans didn't complain about me making a noise or bumping into someone, i was once actually thrown over the fence onto the pitch for a laugh by some geeza and it was great. i could rant for about a million words about why i hate watching football now but i wont. i was once shouting at a game as i was a touch intoxicated but some stupid "woman again" told me to be quiet, she then said to her husband and said " i wish some one would tell him to be quiet i cant even hear the game" i said WHAT! she was listening to the fucking radio whilst watching rovers, can you believe that! probably didn't know the names of the players:mad:

anyway Burnley are shit

I agree with every word there Wiggy... even the Burnley bit, we are shit.

Football isn't as good as it used to be, I'm glad that I experienced it just before it turned plastic

I wish it could be mutual, but when we played you at Ewood on April Fools Day in 2001 I make a pre-match agreement with my Wovers supporting friend, whoever won, we don't take the piss out of eachother... as you will happily remember Burnley got stuffed 5-0, it was horrible... but to be fair, he never said a word afterwards.

I don't think I could have done that.

So your my second favourite Blackburn Fan :D
