Okay this is my stab at posting the most trivial and random thread on the boards.

What are the best crisps (or potato chips for you American folks) that you've ever eaten. I'm prompted to ask this because over the past couple of months I've discovered Real McCoys Mexican Chilli flavoured crisps - and they really do hit the spot. I highly recommend them.

Attached below is "A Pile of The Real McCoy's Potato Chips" by Paul Hurst. Print it out and eat it!

I remember eating Tubes as a kid. Anyone remember them? Like Squares but, unsurprisingly, in tube and hoop shapes.

Beef Wotsits in the 80s were lovely. Light, fluffy and tangy they were, not the red spicy ones you get now. And of course Monster Munch...or in today's money, Space Raiders.

I used to badger the landlord of the pub I used to work in to sell Space Radiers, finally he gave in to my weekly requests and decided to sell them.

And they sold like hot cakes. Particually in the club upstairs, we were naughty and sold them for 50p a bag rather than the RRP of 20p.

Pubs don't make a lot of profit on alchohol, the most profit is made on Coca-Cola and soft drinks... and marked up Space Raiders.

We used to get drunken do-gooders complaining about the price, we told them to complain, but we never had any post

They used to feature a young boy the front... not the best marketing campaign I have ever seen.

Amazingly I can't find an image of them...

Ok when I was a kid I can remember loving Superman BBQ beef flavour crisps. I Also went mad for Bits-a-Pizza!

I don't think you can get those anymore so my choices would be Pickled Onion Monster Munch or Wheat Crunchies ;)

Ah crisps... Where do you begin???

Love my scampi and lemon nik-naks (the other flavours are too 'chemically')

Anything Worcester sauce (french fries being one of the very best) and prawn cocktail too. Cheesy bunion being another great all rounder, oc.

Now, when I was a lad around the age of four, my family were sooo poor, at primary school, when stoney-broke, I used to keep an empty packet in my school desk! Beef and onion being the flavour of choice at the time. (KP?) Hmmmm... memories...

Thank god they didn't suffer the effects of inflation like chocolate and fizzy drinks seemed to!!!

Chocolate's just a love-chemical substitute anyway! ;)

here's a question, are doritoes considered a crisp?

aside from the doritoes which i have a thing for right now(tangy cheese flavour) id say roysters t-bone steak. i also really liked space raiders when i were younger but only pickled onion.

however if anyone has been into a spar and seen their own brand of burger bites i believe they are called, they are really good too

I reckon doritoes can be rightfully classified as crisps! Maybe a little 'posh' if you've a tray of dips in front of you but still technically 'crispy', if you like. :)

Bitsa Pizza they were the best. Whatever happened to them?

Anyone remember the advert. One of those where the song really stuck in your head.
