As requested , HERE is a really interesting interview I came across with the film-maker Adam Mason. He talks a bit about film editing, the mindset of making films, working to a low budget (and he lives slap bang in the middle of Hollywood), etc etc etc....

Fighting against the film industry is like picking a scrap with Ronald McDonald. He doesn't give a shit he makes rubbish burgers cause he's selling a billion of them a day, and after all - he's a fucking clown.

I don't think you can make a good film if the shoots easy! If it’s not hard - you're not pushing yourself enough. It’s why so many Hollywood films are shit. They’re just too pampered for their own good.
