Well, 6 points! 6 points more than I expected we would have after the Stoke game.
Its not so bad this Premierhip malarkey... got Chelsea away next, I honesty don't expect anything there, nothing at all. They will be looking for revenge from last season.

I think as well as having a bit of luck, you've also come across two out of form sides.
As I said on another site, if you expect to score a good goal and hang onto a one nil lead against out of form sides in every game you will win the league. However, good luck with that game-plan
That said I know you aren't one of those people. I think a few will go away disappointed this season as they've built themselves up for a fall. Even some of the Burnley squad were in the press today saying they were going to do this and that (if I were Coyle I'd put a stop to that). You on the other hand have lowered your expectations so that when you've had good results, it's been a sweet bonus.
Chelsea will be the first on-form side you've faced so far, it's on the telly before Rovers next home game so I'll be watching that then heading down to Ewood

It's nice to get points on the board, as I have said before - we have Chelsea and Liverpool away to come next - that's going to be completely different, and I can see we are playing out-of-form teams at the moment, and I appreciate that we have faced teams on off-days.
What has impressed me, (and surprised me to be honest) is that we haven't fluked our results. We have played very well defensively (soft penalties apart), took our chances and worked well as a team overall. The football is OK, the belief is there and hopefully we can keep plugging away as the season goes on.
Robbie Blake summed it up, he said "the main objective is to stay up, and then go from there". That's Coyle mentality. He gets the team to look at the opposition and assess their weaknesses and how his teams strengths can take advantages of them while focusing on a realistic aim.
And it seems to be working...
We were a bit on the back foot today, Everton really tried to break us down in the second half, but I think Burnley wanted to get more than the one goal. It's not a Coyle tactic to score a goal and sit on it.
That's my main concern at the moment, the lack of clear cut chances we have had so far... hopefully these will come.

Fletcher looks OK. I don't know a great deal about him other than what Hibs fans' commented when he left them. They think he deserves his chance in The Premiership and seems a popular figure up there.
I've only seen him twice this season as I didn't get chance to go to any pre-season friendlies this year. Against Manchester United he played like a wide forward and he looked strong.
I think there is still some room for improvement in terms of taking those chances, he had one given to him on a plate against United and totally scuffed it.
But to answer your question, I think he looks pretty good, I think once he get a goal under his belt he could get another 10 - he looks capable for it.
I think we are missing an out and out goalscorer though, last season the goals were shared amongst the team, Paterson got about 15, but dried up (then he found form again towards the end of the campaign), Robbie Blake, Chris Eagles, Wade Elliott and Steve Thompson can all get goals.
37 year old Graham Alexander scored 10 last season, the majority from the penalty-spot. - Over his career (I think) he has scored 72 out of 76 pens.
But I would still like someone with a proven record at this type of level

I wasn't there. I was, as you might expect, gutted to hear - and later see - what was happening as I watched Sky Sports News last night. I knew as soon as that draw was announced there'd be trouble, admittedly not quite on this scale. The person I felt most sorry for was Jack Collison. The win should've been a tribute to his dad who died on Sunday but it was taken away by the idiotic twats who claim to be fans. He left the pitch in tears.
The last 4 days have probably been the worst in West Ham's history. I cannot believe all this stuff has happened in less than a week.

Apparently there were some banned fans who got into the stadium. :foldarms:
I'm expecting a hefty fine to come our way, and this is while we're still paying off Sheffield United for their hurt feelings (The main reason I'm glad Burnley won that play-off is so that we didn't face them in the Premier League again so soon). I'd be expecting a points deduction as well but it was a separate match so we may get away with it. However, being thrown out of the cup is a strong possibilty.

West Ham's recent history has been more bizarre that Dream Teams Harchester United.
Players being stabbed, Illegible players scoring relegation saving goals, fans getting stabbed, player Dads killed in road accidents, being forced to pay £7m in compo to Sheff Utd, fans rioting in and outside the ground... what next?!

I was meaning all the happenings, there's been many talking points so far. More so than the beginnings of previous seasons. And I'm sure there's many more to come.
Rovers have just signed Chimbonda from Totting-ham by the way. Supposed to be another signing over next couple of days following the exodus of player of the year Warnock.

I can see Premiership teams beginning to flex their muscles now, shame Rovers lost Warnock... I wonder how long it will take him to realise the grass isn't always greener on the other side, just like the rest of them who left Ewood to 'further their careers'.
I hope he didn't join Villa for European football.
City have shelled out on Everton's Joleon Lescott, who claims he didn't join the gazillionares for the money!?
