Quotes

“The best film to come out of the North West in a decade!” Danny Moran, Citylife Magazine

“I was totally taken in that this fiction film was an actual documentary. I was moved to horror, anger and outrage as I watched it, ready to protest to the organisers who screened it about how they could condone such journalism.* Right up till the very end I thought I was watching a documentary about drugs, pornography and rape.* But the real story, about the media's lack of ethics, crept up on me, caught me unawares; without me realising it I began judging the crew, in particular the presenter, for his incalculably inhumane and opportunistic behaviour. An excellent film.” Kothai Kanthan, filmmaker, documentarist, ex-BBC reporter

“A jet-black comedy that shows what British independents could and should be doing.” Ben Blaine, Shooting People.org

"It's very polished, with a very high standard of acting" Alex Cox, Director - Sid and Nancy, Repo Man

“The genius of this staggeringly-realistic faux documentary is that its black humour makes you laugh even as another part of you is thinking, "Oh my god - what these people are doing is horrific." It entertains hugely for an hour and a half, but leaves you with many unsettling thoughts on both the horrors of the crimes committed by the "Bad Lad" Tommy and the exploitative nature of the media and the ethics of journalists. These themes have never been more relevant. Damn-near perfect” Neil Oseman, director and cinematographer

“One of the best films I’ve seen in a long time, regardless of cost. The performances are outstanding and it’s made with a directorial style which is completely gripping from beginning to end.” Bruno Coppola, award winning director

“A very cool film.” Nik Powell, producer The Crying Game, Mona Lisa, Fever Pitch

“I’m gobsmacked at how good it is.” Neal Keeling, Manchester Evening News

“Absolutely superb, and completely inspiring.” Chris Bernard, Director, Letter to Brezhnev

"A better exploration of complicity than Man Bites Dog... It's very good indeed." Steve Balshaw, Programmer, Kino Film

"...gritty, and semi-pornographic as well..." Terry Christian

I'm going, I'm meeting Fiona Brownlie at the train station in the afternoon, trying to decide if i should drive or not, I think I might, but I want to have a few jars as well, so I am not sure, I think I might have to drive, I don't know how I am going to get back otherwise. Why cant the screening be in Bacup?!

But I will be there anyway

Would of been really great to have gone to this, but because of where it is/the time I imagine it'll roughly finish, I wouldn't be able to get back on the same night...So it's going to have to be another screening/q&a that I miss out on going to. Third screening lucky?... Anyway, hope a fab time is had by all that are going to this.

I have been told that accommodation is not expensive near Piccadilly Station. We have a mate coming up from London who needs to get back for a Foo Fighters concert the next day.

And I really wanted to go, but a camera sale offer came up on Monday and I made the mistake of reading the reviews. I was hoping it would be rubbish so I could justify NOT buying it, but sadly it sounded pretty good. So I won't be able to eat for a couple of weeks, but I should get some excellent self-portrait photos of an emaciated person by then. Sorry I'm going to miss it.

I'm planning to go. Depending on how my missus allocates the work, I've either got a wedding or a raunchy photoshoot the next day, so I have to lay off the sauce anyway. Will be driving from Great Harwood to Manchester via M66 - room for 3 passengers or 4 if my car is fixed in time.

"room for 3 passengers or 4 if my car is fixed in time" ?

What exactly needed fixing, had someone broken one of your seats, and if so, how? Or am I taking things too literally again..........

 My car is broken, and at the garage. My wife's Rav4, the alternative, only accommodates three pax.

Neatly side-stepped! See if you can do the same with the next question - did you get to do another lovely wedding, or were you forced to do a raunchy photoshoot?

Too early to say, but probably wedding.

The raunchy shoot will be gatecrashed by at least four babes, for reasons that are unlikely to make sense in a short message, so even though the bride is cute (considering she's blonde), I'll probably end up with her. God's like that. He hates me.
