With the way the week's gone I'm thinking a 0-0 draw. Just to put an anti-climax on recent events.

Rovers vs West Ham was dire yesterday. Allardyce played 4-5-1 which was totally negative considering we played at home.

Not surprising most of the newspapers are focusing on the negative tactics of Sam Allardyce, when West Ham were just as much to blame if not worse. They had nothing about them at all and seemed happy to sit back for a point. Rovers easily outplayed them and could have won on several occasions. I actually felt sorry for the West Ham fans, at least Rovers fans had a few things to cheer about. New signing Chimbonda replacing Warnock is a fantastic bit of business (but where's the rest of the money £7mil in, 1.7mil out doesn't make sense!). Chimbonda had a great debut, and our defense looked solid. David Dunn came back from injury and played very well. And Niko Kalanic looks like it's not going to be long before he finds the net - if only Allardyce would play him for a full game. He's by far our sharpest striker and the only one that can successfully hold the ball up.

Also funnily enough, I watched MOTD last night and anyone not at the game would have thought it was pretty much equal thanks to shifty editing.

I felt that due to Allardyce's negative tactics we were robbed of taking all three points. For the first few games we were mixing it up and playing good football. If we'd have played like that we'd have won. Yesterday was disappointing and I hope not the shape of things to come

I only watched MOTD until Burnley... so I cant comment on Rovers... that's if I have a right to comment watching that programme.

I listened on the radio, and caught the last few minutes in JustinTV. Burnley were absolutely battered, how we kept it to three only The Beast knows.

According to the Claret supporters who travelled to Stamford Bridge, they are convinced Chelsea will lift the Premiership Trophy this is season... the were brilliant.

I'm still concerned about our lack of creative chances. Sunderland at home next.

After seeing all the coverage of the match at the weekend I'm now convinced we were robbed. Clearly a penalty after Dunn's leg was taken clearly in the box - referee was right in front of the incident. He needs his eyes testing it was quite clear it was a foul.

If he is any good, he would be a Kissing Cousin!

I can't believe we are after this Donkey! :blink: If Alan Nixon from the Mirror reports it, it's normally true - and he has. He has a good relationship with Coyle and Burnley Football Club.

Hopefully it's a smoke screen for somebody more proven.

However, this kind of deal does make sense, I think Coyle wants to boost his options up front, but with transfer money more than likely to be spent up, I think he wants to bring in a striker with Premiership experience in on loan, thus not breaking our £15,000 a week wage structure either.

It was Alan 'Nicko' Nixon who wrote it originally, I saw it on brfcs.co.uk where he posts regularly. Nice that he posts little nuggets of info like this for the fans.

With the Transfer Window shut, I am pleased to know we didn't sign Cousin... I think that had something to do with the Benjani move falling through. Instead we have taken former Bury and Preston striker David Nugent on loan from Portsmouth.

Now, I'm pleased with this deal, he has had a nightmare at Pompy but I know he has ability. I have been keeping tabs on this young lad since he was at Bury, he was hot property at Preston, and he held out moves to lots of Premership clubs as he was waiting for that move from Everton.

That move never came. Since then he has been warming the bench at Fratton Park.

I hope he can recapture his football league form with us

Liverpool vs Burnley - I've got a ticket, to sit on the KOP. Only the third time I'll have been:

Saw them beat Olympiakos in Dec '04 when they went on to lift 'Big Ears'.

Saw them in Aug 1990 when they beat Villa after parading no. 18 before the kick off (The rest is HISTORY ).

You going Cop? Anfield is Mecca, after all!

I reckon you should get off quite lightly. We'll probably stop trying at 8-0.

No, not going this time... Been to Anfield a few times, both watching Burnley in The FA Cup.

They are normally quite tasty affairs are games featuring Burnley and Liverpool, obviously with the Red's seeking revenge after The Clarets knocked them out of the Cup a few years ago... with THAT own goal by Djimi Traore

I remember the Traore goal (who doesn't?). It was probably planned anyway - Rafa was trying to get us eliminated from the cup that day, wasn't he?, as I seem to recall .

On the LFC message boards, Traore got off quite lightly (eventually). They even spawned a never-ending song, "That's Traore!" (to the tune of 'That's Amore'). I was almost sad to see him go!

Anyway, 4-0, job done. I'm happy with that! The game was played in the right spirit though I kept getting a headache through too much sun / beer / singing.

Good game at the weekend for Rovers, a 3-1 win over Wolves. Could have been a lot more only for the post, dodgy referee'ing (at one point a linesman tried to give offside for a throw-in :scratchhead: ) and poor finishing. Wolves didn't deserve a goal they were awful, it was only due to big Chris Samba going off that our defense went to pot for a brief period. I hope he's fit for the Everton game, I prefer him and the fast-becoming-legendary Gael Givet at the back than anyone else.

Burnley's Premiership starts now for me.

After these first 5 games, I expected 0 points. If we were going to grab something somewhere it was going to be away against Stoke City - the first game of the season, when we lost that, wouldn't have expected to get 6 points on the board.

If we can pick up points in our home games - that's great. If we pick up points at Ewood, well we can finish bottom of the league losing the rest of the games for all I care

This is the funniest thing I've read for a while. The match write-up for Blackburn Rovers vs Peterborough on Peterborough's official site. I was there tonight, it's amazing how the writer has made a 5-2 defeat seem positive...

Jamie Day curled a free-kick into the wall after Frecklington was fouled on the edge of the box four minutes from time.

"Curled a free-kick?!" He just belted it into the wall! There was no curling going on of any kind (I was sat not so far away from this so-called curling).

Blackburn Rovers were given a great chance to score on 42 minutes after a terrible header from Martin tempted Lewis out of his goal and he tugged down Pedersen. The referee issued a straight red card. Lewis faces a suspension...
It was confirmed during the interval that Lewis would be suspended for Saturday's meeting with Barnsley at London Road unless the club decide to appeal.

In other words, he was the last man clear through on goal, Pederson got round him and the keeper pulled him to the floor. Their keeper's got as much chance of winning an appeal as Rose West.

And I certainly don't remember them having 12 shots!

Does this mean I can go round saying that Chelsea had a flattering win when they beat our swine-flu hit team 5-0 at the weekend

I was at the game with my mate, his son collects autographs in a small book and my mate had the genius idea of buying a surgical mask for his son and plonking him near the bench in the jack walker lower, all the blackburn players were pointing and laughing at him, he got lots of autographs and dunny promised him his shirt after the game, it was really funny!
