Cheers Michael. Downloaded the full version last night, but it was too big for a friend's connection so the smaller version should be better.

Well I've finally got it and it looks good! Unfortunately for me, it's not sounding good, ....yet. Had a mate who's the Tech. Manager at a local computer shop download it, watched it there but no sound. Mind you he's Applophobic, and therefore doesn't have QT installed on any of his PC's. So, I brought it home and watched it on one of mine (which does have QT, but not the latest version), when I say "watched", that is the operative word. I've now downloaded a newer version, which I'll then transfer to another PC to install it, then I'll probably be able to listen to it too. Pass the Paracetamols.

Oooooh, another Award! Thanks Fran, but is the Persistence Award a higher accolade than Best Newcomer?

"I'd like to thank my family and friends, without whom all this would have been, blah, blah, blah, sob sob, etc....."

But, to return to the point, I've now heard the music, and the corpsing/giggling fit, and they do add to the overall effect, and were worth the wait. The original download had a .mpeg suffix and couldn't get any audio working, so I later went to the exposureroom site and downloaded it again as a .mov, which plays fine in the most recent version of GomPlayer, which supports H.264 codec. I originally got it to play Flash Video format stuff and it does have some useful features, such as informing you of missing codecs and connecting to the Internerd to download them - and it's nothing to do with Apple, which is just another example of my reverse-snobbery! I live in Morecambe, what else did you expect?

Don't know how you managed to get the mpeg suffix Dave. They are both .mov files. Mpeg4 is just the compression.

:confused:Didn't understand much of all that, (my technical abilities mostly consist of shouting "Help!") but I'm glad you got there in the end! o_O

Not sure the Persistence Award is a higher accolade, but definitely a well deserved one! ;) :)

Hey everyone. YouTube now supports HD content, so you can find the Bar Stewards montage on there too!

Great the montage is finally on youtube. The HD version of the video has amazing picture quality, too...though the video itself doesn't play smoothly through for me. The standard quality one plays fine, but the HD one is a bit slow motion and choppy. How does the HD one play for you, Mike? And did you use the beta uploader? For example, I put up one video using the standard uploader, but it wouldn't play back right...until I used the beta uploader.

Plays perfectly, I think the issue may be the speed of your computer. You need to have a decent spec computer to play HD content. The quality is much better than Vimeo and Exposure Room to my eyes.

Yep, that's probably what it is. Shame, as the image quality is excellent. My computer plays 'high quality' youtube videos okay, but HQ vids and HD vids obviously ain't the same thing...

What happens if you manually control the buffering by hitting "pause" at the start of the video, then wait for the progress bar to fill before pressing "play"? That's how I deal with choppy video caused by my wife hogging the network...

Glad you think the image quality is excellent. With the limited amount of video kit we've had at our disposal, that's kind of miraculous :)

Yeah, who'd of thunk it of ye olde youtube, eh?! And thanks for the tip, Gorf. I did let the progress bar run right to the very end before starting to play it through...but it didn't really make any difference, I'm afraid.

it may just be your processor joanna, i know somebody who has a ibook and they have a problem playing streaming media, more so if it's hd.

not sure what you have though!

It's an Intel Pentium 4, wiggy. Old, though, and not dual core. Not got a great amount of RAM, either.

As well as the 'normal quality' videos, the 'high quality' versions seem to work alright for me on both iplayer and youtube. However, this wonderful yet pesky HD on yt....

Did you shoot this on film? Or did you filmize your video? Just curious because the only cameras I've heard mention of are the sony XDCAM. I use the sony XDCAM EX3, and am trying to acheive a film look, but it certainly doesn't look as good as this (if that is what your using)

We used the Panasonic HVX200 along with a Red Rock Micro M2 35mm lens adapter + various Nikon lenses.
